Sources and methodology
Where the facts come from
- Spanish law: Organic Law 1/2025, Royal Decree 1155/2024 (Immigration Regulation), Law 14/2013 on entrepreneurs, Royal Decree 1004/2015 on nationality, the Civil Code and Royal Decree 126/2026 on the minimum wage.
- Spanish embassies and consulates: New Delhi, Los Angeles and Budapest; Barcelona International Welcome.
- The Ministry of Inclusion: investors, criteria after the end of the investor route, entrepreneurs, salary thresholds, duration of permits, arraigo, renewal of non-lucrative residence and long-term residence; the Tax Agency; the Ministry of Justice and the General Access Point.
- Data published by BRIDGES: Spain, Non-Lucrative, nomad visa, end of the Golden Visa and the Passport Index.
How I check and date information
- Each article shows an "Updated" date. It changes only when the facts are reviewed.
- Where sources differ, I show both.
Facts I could not confirm in official sources
- the monthly digital nomad figure of about €2,849 is my own calculation (200% of the 2026 minimum wage spread over 12 months); some consulates quote the figure in 14 payments;
- the 2026 salary thresholds for highly qualified professionals (€41,356.36) and the reduced Blue Card threshold (€33,085.09) come from a Ministry of Inclusion note that could not be opened directly during this check;
- the savings income rates, the €50,000 threshold of Model 720 and the €3 million threshold of the solidarity tax come from specialised tax sources, not from a page of the Tax Agency;
- the passport rank: 7th of 199 with 184 destinations in the BRIDGES Passport Index of 4 October 2026; other indexes give other numbers.
How often the guides are updated
All articles are reviewed at least once a quarter and after any change to Spanish immigration or tax rules.
